Chemistry

Chemistry is the study of matter and its properties. It involves how and why substances combine or separate to form other substances, and the energy changes that take place.

Chemistry is everywhere in the world around you: e.g. food, clothes, medicines, cosmetics and fuel.

Chemistry is sometimes called the ‘central science’ because it connects other sciences to each other, such as biology, physics, geology and environmental science.

Through your learning in Chemistry, you will engage in a range of collaborative investigative tasks. You will develop important skills, to become creative, inventive and enterprising as well as learning to think analytically and solve problems.
