Design Technology

Welcome to the Design Technology department. We aim to equip our young people with a passion for design and an ability to produce innovative products both practically and graphically. Our curriculum is based around the design and manufacture of products and their applications within our modern society. We are a well equipped department, comprising of two multi purpose workshops and two design/graphics studios, equipped with PC’s with access to Computer Aided Design and Desktop Publishing software. We are also fortunate to have our own CAD-CAM facilities; pupils experience the use of both our laser cutter and 3D printer during their time within our department.

In the senior phase, pupils can specialise in a number of Design and Technology disciplines ranging from National 4 through to Higher. These include:

Graphic Communication, Design & Manufacture and Practical Woodworking.
