English

A good understanding of the English Language is an essential skill and one that is used far beyond school. Being able to read analytically, speak fluently and write coherently are tools which can be applied in a number of scenarios and ones which we aim to equip our young people with from S1 onwards. We also believe it is important for our young people to be given the opportunity to read and study texts which cause them to think of wider world issues and to question and challenge their own understanding of such things. Finally, instilling a love of literature, theatre and film is important to us as it is in our Languages Faculty as a whole.
